Edmonton, AB – AccelerateAB is ecstatic to announce that Brianne Jenner, RBC Olympian, will be the keynote speaker presented by Fasken at the Startup Advising Sessions event. Her keynote will focus on parallels between being an elite athlete and an entrepreneur.
Brianne Jenner is a two-time Olympian in ice hockey. Some of her accomplishments include being a PyeongChang 2018 Silver Medalist, a Sochi 2014 Olympic Gold Medalist, and a five-time World Championship Medalist. Her credentials do not end there. She graduated from Cornell University, where she majored in Government with a minor in Law and Society, and completed her Master’s in Public Policy at the University of Calgary.
Brianne’s keynote is entitled ‘Energy Management and Preparation: Reflections from Olympic Gold and Silver’. “There are a lot of similarities between the entrepreneurial journey and the career of an elite athlete,” says Cynthia van Sundert, Executive Director of The A100. “From the emotional journey of the highs and lows, to the dedication and tenacity needed to get to the ‘upward curve of the hockey stick’ known as scaling up, we are very excited to have Brianne join us and share her experiences.”
What are the Startup Advising Sessions? Hosted by The A100, the Startup Advising Sessions are an opportunity for startups to engage with some of the most experienced entrepreneurs in Alberta’s technology industry who have built, scaled, and exited startups themselves. By the end of the sessions, these startups will have experienced inspiring presentations, storytelling workshops, pitch coaching sessions, and customized 1:1 workshops. The companies will also have the opportunity to pitch their startup to over 500 AccelerateAB attendees. The Startup Advising Sessions will be held on Monday, April 23rd.
Though the Startup Advising Sessions event is invite-only, the main AccelerateAB conference which is being held at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton on Tuesday, April 24th, is open to all. Tickets are available on the conference website.
