On November 17, 2022, Julian Mulia Goycoolea of NanoTess was recognized with the Most Promising Startup Entrepreneur Award as part of the 2022 Start Alberta Tech Awards. The Most Promising Startup Entrepreneur of the Year is awarded to a founder recognized for their coachability, community involvement, and ability to launch a tech-focused company in Alberta.
Julian Mulia Goycoolea is the COO and Co-Founder of NanoTess. The Calgary-based health tech company has developed an innovative material technology that can heal diabetic wounds. A chemical and software engineer by trade, Julian also provides pro bono consulting to multiple startups and not-for-profits.
“At NanoTess, we save lives. We are very proud that our technology in the short journey we have been on has supported a lot of Canadians and people we love to improve their quality of life,” explains Julian. “I lost both my parents to chronic conditions…we were able to see opportunity from such a dark place. Now, I think my parents would be proud of it.”
