On October 11, 2023, Tacit Edge was recognized with the Digital Talent Champion Award as part of the 2023 Start Alberta Tech Awards. The Digital Talent Champion Award recognizes a company, program or individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership in developing the talent ecosystem, growing the digital talent pool and accelerating innovation and diversification in Alberta.
Tacit Edge is working to make Alberta a center for Product Management excellence. Product Managers are at the heart of tech innovation and growth but no formal education program or pathway exists.
“We do coaching, education and certification for product management because it doesn’t exist. The pathway into product management is completely unclear, very ambiguous, and that leads to a lot of inequity,” explains Renee Matsalla, Co-Founder. “We want to be the people to bring that pathway to the world, to make it more clear and to break down barriers for more people to get to product management.”
In 2021, the Tacit Edge team launched the only Equity, Diversity and Inclusion-based (EDI) Product Management education programs globally, in partnership with SAIT and Alberta Innovates. Tacit Edge also offers free online programming that anyone can access to adopt digital Product Management practices in their companies. Through its programs, Tacit Edge has helped over 1,600 people progress in their product manager careers and over 120 companies in Alberta and around the world to date.

Now, it’s how to evolve the practice or product of the future, which includes everyone.”
