On November 20, 2024, Pierre Lemire of Kent Imaging was recognized with the Leader of the Year Award as part of the 2024 Start Alberta Tech Awards. The Leader of the Year is awarded to an executive-level individual who has not only had a significant impact on the success of their organization but also serves as an inspiration to their colleagues, team, customers and community.
Pierre is a successful serial entrepreneur in the Alberta tech community with a wealth of experience in the medical imaging space. He is currently the CEO of Kent Imaging which has developed technology that helps physicians revolutionize wound treatment.
Their medical imaging device enables better diagnosis and treatment decisions, leading to improved patient outcomes including limb preservation and life-saving interventions. Kent Imaging was also awarded Medical Imaging Technology Developers of the Year (Canada) for its fourth consecutive year in 2024.
“I’m excited to share this with my team at Kent who are pushing the envelope to bring really innovative solutions to the global market. Our team has a very pioneering spirit,” explains Pierre.
Pierre brings over 35 years of experience in technology commercialization to lead Kent Imaging into its next growth phase, including expansion into Europe and new distribution deals with Australia and Israel. He’s had the opportunity to connect with some of the largest medical companies in the world, such as GE, Toshiba and Fuji.
Hailing from a small community, Lemire credits much of his success to the work ethic he learned on his parents’ farm in rural Saskatchewan. He remains proudly Alberta-based and shares his expertise beyond the walls of Kent and throughout the growing tech community in Calgary.
“What I’m really excited about is how Alberta companies are willing to collaborate together to help each other succeed, to break down barriers together and share knowledge so that we can try to accelerate how we bring our innovative solutions to market,” he added.
