COVID-19 and AccelerateAB 2020

AccelerateAB

Due to rapidly escalating health concerns relating to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the AccelerateAB 2020 conference has been postponed until September 14-15, 2020.

The decision to postpone is based on current available data and the fact that COVID-19 has officially been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The team at AccelerateAB and the A100 have not taken this decision lightly. We have been monitoring the situation closely and, taking into account the increased number of unprecedented travel and event bans, we felt it necessary to put public health above all other priorities.

In the last few weeks many major events around the world have been canceled or postponed due to health risks. Many leading tech companies in Canada and the US have already banned travel and event attendance for hundreds of thousands of employees, and some are now moving towards mandatory work from home policies.

The Canadian outbreak is in its early stages and the risk remains low at present, but if it follows the pattern of other developed countries, the situation by mid-April may well be considerably worse. With flattening the outbreak curve top of mind, we felt it our responsibility to postpone the event until September 14-15, 2020.

We have put together a short FAQ, but if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at info@thea100.org.

We look forward to seeing you in September in Edmonton as we resume our 10-year anniversary celebration of Alberta tech, including an outstanding lineup of speakers and unparalleled networking opportunities.

FAQ:

Will the September 14-15, 2020 conference still be in Edmonton?

Yes, AccelerateAB 2020 will still be held at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

Have you considered a virtual conference?

AccelerateAB was established to facilitate collisions and relationship-building opportunities between early-stage and late-stage startups, angel investors, venture capitalists, service providers, government agencies, and more.

For the 10th anniversary in 2020, we’re also physically showcasing exciting local Edmonton tech companies and programs, and offering special offsite events. We feel the conference best serves its purpose as an in-person, live experience.

Will my tickets be refunded?

All tickets purchased for AccelerateAB will automatically be transferred to the September 14-15 event.
